“Enrich Talk” is a monthly policy dialogue session created to strengthen public awareness, accountability and to promote civic engagement in public policies by providing the public the opportunities to interact with policy makers to discuss and share their views on issues that affect their everyday life. In each talk, prominent representatives from the government, civil society, the private sector and development partner are invited join a panel discussion on a particular emerging hot issue. The talk catalyzes interaction between policy makers and practitioners for improving public policies related to sustainable development in Cambodia.

Goal: Promote open governance through increased public engagement in policy discussion.

Objective: Provide a platform for stakeholders to meaningfully and constructively interact with policy makers

Open government requires openness to citizen participation and engagement in policymaking and governance. Realizing that citizens’ input is a critical resource for policy-making, this project aims to promote active citizen engagement, transparency and accountability by providing a platform for the public to meaningfully interact with policy makers on issues that concern them. Citizen engagement is what open government is all about and Enrich Institute believes that good decision-making requires the knowledge, experiences, views and values of the public. Good citizen engagement can support the effective functioning of democracy, the legitimacy of government, the successful implementation of policy and the achievement of social outcomes.

The project is expected to produce three outputs: (1) increased awareness on public policy issues, (2) increased public engagement and (3) more inclusive policy development process.
